Over a year ago I was wishing for a crafting-only space to save time and energy, which are in short supply around here. At the time, my sewing space was in our play "room" (actually part of our main room which is also our office, dining room, etc.) On the bright side, I finally have my own space! Our basement flooded awhile back, and the upside was that a whole section was cleared of clutter (you know, the wet part). Before something lame could get comfy there, my mom and I moved all my sewing stuff to that corner.
It started out sort of big, but it's gotten smaller and smaller over the past few months. As you can see, it used to be Drew's "Sports Den." Sewing is more important to me than the decor, so for now the Indians jersey stays.
I'll eventually have my own, as in *for real* my own, sewing and crafting spot. Until then, I'm trying to make a list of what I need to a beautiful, functional and organized space. A window, for starters. I'd also love some sort of antique cupboard for storage rather than the plastic containers that are stacked under my table. If you go back to my old post there are some gorgeous crafting rooms that I'd love to recreate.
A quick search proves that crafters all over the place are wishing for a better place to create. One fun collection I found was on a blog called Spiral Owl Creations. I just love Allsorts' amazing room, especially the little suitcases!
Where do you create? What do you wish you could change about your space?
